CLIENT SERVICE AGREEMENT
Let’s start with the services you offer: Calligraphy and Custom Stationery.
Each time you take on a new client, or start a new project, you’ll want to sign a contract with them.
If you offer both calligraphy & stationery, simply purchase one of the full agreements from this section and the other from the Complimentary Services section below.
We don’t believe its right to have you purchase full two separate agreements if you offer these two similar & complimentary services, so purchasing one full agreement and one add-on provision is a great way to get yourself covered for both services, and save in the process versus buying the two full agreements!
WEBSITE LEGALITY
In order to protect your business and your site visitors, you’ll want the following two essential templates on your website, the Privacy Policy & the Website Terms & Conditions.
Extended licensing
Did your client love your work so much, they want to reuse it in other ways, such as on mug or in a publication?
If yes, you’ll want to also grab the extended licensing agreement!
Selling through your site
If you also are looking to make sales through your site (say, selling cards or prints), we also have a Terms & Conditions for the Online Sale of Goods & Services.
INCORPORATION
If you’re ready to take the step to incorporate your business as a LLC, you’ll need an operating agreement in order to start the incorporation process.
We have two LLC incorporation templates.
The Single Member LLC is for you if you’re founding the LLC solo.
The Multi-Member LLC is perfect if you’re funding the LLC with one or more business partners.
Note: You just need one of these agreements, not both.
*Can't decide which template you need? If you think you might bring on a partner at some point, we recommend the Multi-Member LLC Operating Agreement.
hiring
If you’re looking to bring on team members to help you with your calligraphy or stationery business, such as bringing on other artists to help you fulfill the orders demand or simply bringing on a virtual assistant for a little back-end business assistance, there’s a few ways to hire them.
If you’re not sure what classification you should give your new team member (ie. employee, contractor, intern, extern, etc.), then we recommend first starting with our e-Book, the Fundamentals of Hiring.
After that, you’ll know what classification you’d like to give your new hire, and then you may purchase the relevant template.
SERVICE CANCELLATIONS & TERMINATIONS
What happens if your client wishes to cancel your project together?
Our Termination & Cancellation agreement is the appropriate template to sign with your client, overriding your original client agreement and cancelling the project.
Marketing & collaboration
If you’re ready to take your business to the next level, it’s time to start a consistent marketing & collaborations effort!
Here’s what each template is used for:
If you plan to sell a product and wish to have other industry peers (affiliates) promote it, the Affiliate Agreement is the right fit for you.
If you are looking to start your own podcast and invite guests on it, then the Podcast Interview Agreement is right for you.
If you’d like a little help from guest posters/guest writers on your blog or online magazine, then the Article Submissions Agreement is right for you.
