Language You Can Add To Your Contract In Response To COVID-19

At the link below, you will find language that you may add to your contract in light of COVID-19. A few notes:

  •  We recommend including this provision in the section of your contract related to your working environment: Creative Law Shop® customers, this section will appear as “safe working environment”.

  • If you add this language to a new contract you are asking your client to sign, it is prudent to notify them of this addition

  • Contracts may not be unilaterally amended post-signing

  • This provision will help you with any COVID-19-related event in the future. However, this also eliminates the defense of foreseeability required to overcome a force majeure argument (reference our “Force Majeure” blog post HERE). 

Note: this provision is not required: your contract may be robust enough that it contains preemptive language that covers epidemic-type scenarios. Please defer to your attorney with any questions as to the applicability
